Archives FAQ

How do I find an older photo or article on Stripes.com?

The easiest way to find an older photo or article is to search our Archives. If you need help locating an item, you can also fill out our Archive Request form to submit a request. Once we receive your information, we will do a courtesy search for you and see if we can locate the item.

You can also sign up for an Archives subscription. Rates range from $4.95 for a single day to $7.95 per month or $47.40 annually.

Stars and Stripes provides online access to the majority of its editions and years of publication. Please note there is no guarantee that what you are looking for will be in the archives.

How do I subscribe to your Archives service?

The Stars and Stripes Historic Archives, created in partnership with NewspaperArchive.com, contain various WWII editions as well as all European and Pacific editions from 1948 - 1999. The Archives are searchable by both keyword and date. If you have any questions about the subscription or issues accessing the site, please contact Newspaper Archive's customer service at customerservice@newspaperarchive.com.

Subscribe online by going to the Stars and Stripes Archives. The archives are accessible through subscription with fees starting at $4.95 for a day-pass and $7.95 for a monthly subscription. Annual subscriptions are also available. To subscribe, go to the Stars and Stripes Archives.

More current issues of our paper can be viewed via our ePaper.

How do I find recent past editions of the newspaper?

The most recent past editions of Stars and Stripes may be found at the ePaper section of our website.

Can you help me search for a photo?

For assistance in searching for a photo, please submit your request by completing our Archive Request form. Once we receive your information, we will do a courtesy search for you and see if we can locate the item you are looking for.

If we are not able to assist you, it is also possible that you might find the item in our Newspaper Archives (access does require a small subscription fee, the lowest of which is $4.95 for a day). Please note, however, that most of the archive content was created from microfilm, which is not likely to produce a good image that you could reproduce with any clarity.
