Khe Sanh Combat Base, South Vietnam, Jan. 25, 1968 - Marines run for cover as North Vietnamese mortar and artillery fire rains down on Khe Sanh Combat Base. Located on the North-South Vietnam border, the base has been under a barrage of artillery, mortar, and rocket attacks from the North Vietnamese Army. The attacks, and counterattacks by U.S. forces in and around the base would last for months and become known as “The Battle of Khe Sanh.”
